The opening for your hand measures about 5" in diameter (a little bit bigger than most key fobs)
I make my key fobs very sturdy. I'm very rough with my own things so I make things with the idea if I can destroy it. With the fobs I sew the two ends loose together, then put hot glue on both sides, then add the metal clamp.

I love this little key strap! It’s so much cuter in person! And it’s just the right size too; not too short and so long it’s annoying. Considering buying another as a gift! Oh! And you can’t see it very well in this picture, but the little tiny turtle that came on the keychain is so adorable!
